What is the recourse available to a client who has given entire fees to a lawyer for a particular purpose and the lawyer is not doing the work efficiently / negligently ?
Due to the negligence of the lawyer the client went through unnecessary mental and financial torture?
What shall be the right recourse available considering he is a big time lawyer?

One may even file a consumer complaint in case the lawyer is not providing his services as undertaken. A complaint to Bar Council can also be made. One may also file a complaint with Bar association.
It is upon you to chose either of the mode.

I think Mr Makkad you must read this: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Lawyers-not-liable-under-consumer-Act-SC/articleshow/4396828.cms
Complaint to the bar council is the only recourse.
