Credit card default

(Querist) 21 April 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

My name is kiran staying in Bangalore.I had taken a Standard Chartered credit card in the year 2009 and had a very good track record of paying the payment within the due date. But in September 2012, I made some payment one day late and interest of Rs. 3500/- was calculated on the whole amount. I contacted the customer care and they refused to reversal the interest charges. So, I stopped paying the interest charges from next month onwards and I use to pay only the amount of which I made the shopping. Later in May 2013, I stopped using the credit card. In the meantime I had taken a loan on my card of 1.5L and I paid it completely.

Now in April 2014, the bank people called me and informed me that the total outstanding on my card was Rs. 60,000/- and they had given my address to the collection agency and the guys are keep calling me and also visiting my house everyday morning.

Now I request you to provide me a solution of the consequences if I don't pay the amount and how to handle these collection agency guys

Thanks

all user of Foreign Bank Credit cards are having these complain.[ icici std chd etc]

Keep away // don't use these if u want to default ;;
Your contract don't have loop holes to save you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They follow contract,shrewd way of business. not justice......They love their profit, not love to serve their client.
These are my opinion, and I advise, keep debit card, of nationalised bank, & not credit card of any bank.

Hindu myths "Devu saman dukh nahi" So why cc..

arrive at on time settlement with bank if possible .

if collection agents threaten you record their conversations . lodge police complaint against them .

Try to have some settlement, these people pressurize a lot.

If any threatening from recovery agents, record the same and lodge police complaint.

Make a complaint to Reserve Bank of India. There are clear guide lines of RBI in this regard.
