I'm living in a housing Co-Op-society having 24 flats (4 floors). I owe a 2BHK flat having a gallery. The gallery has big cracks from oustside as a result rain water gets accumulated and is causing leakage and thereby causing leakage problems to members staying below my flat on 2nd and 3rd floor. According to me Society should do the repairing work of same ..but they have asked me to do the same. please guide/help me regarding same.Thanks.

Who has allotted you the flat. From whom you have purchased it. What is the role of the cooperative society? throw light on these issues.

Get a copy of it from the Society, if it does not supply, get it through RTI from the office of Registrar of Societies.

Send a letter to Society, Let them reply it and if the decision is disputed, can go to co-op court/ Registrar to decide who will pay for it.
Initially, u may carry our necessary repair at your cost and bill it to society to solve leakages immediately.

Repair is the job of the society which has to be conducted out of common maintenance charges so make representation and pressurize the officials of the society to do it at the earliest.
