Compund wall construction

Dear Sirs,

I own a vacant ( 30feet * 40feet = 1200 sqfeet) plot in Bangalore North, My plot adjacent owner is constructing the house and now he started to construct compound wall and he has extended his compound wall by 3 inches in my plot. When i questioned him, He says since the compound wall being common to both of us, Legally it is allowed to put his compound wall in my plot. The 3 inches * 40 feet = 10 feet, So my neighbour encroached 10 feet of my property. Please advice me

issue legal notice to neighbour . file suit for an injunction restraining from carrying out any further construction on compound wall and to demolish compound wall partly constructed by him . contact a local lawyer
