FIR can be lodged against accused if he commits defamation , my problem is that i wants to lodged FIR through Police , i do not want to file complaint against accused.

It is non-cognizable offence.

being non-cognizable offence, police cannot lodge FIR and you shall have to file criminal complaint under section 499/500 IPC if you want to file.

Non cognizable - the court can take seisin of the matter only on a written complaint by person aggrieved by offence of defamation.
