I want to know what are the rights of a person/family being verbally abused and threatened for life by someone who is a relative?
We have lodged a primary FIR, but is extremely enraging to sit while drunk crooks verbally abuse you.

you can imposed the FIR, or complaint magistrate to take action against them

First serve a legal notice then file a criminal complaint against the accused persons under various sections.

The aggrieved person have the right to file criminal case and also can use civil proceedings.

While the abuse try to take video of the entire thing, this will help you to prove the case.

thank you everyone for your answers ! I must however correct myself...we did not lodge an FIR as the Police said we do not have the right of an FIR. It was a normal Police diary. The police called these people and asked them why they were abusing us?
So we will now think about doing criminal and cvil proceedings against them!!
