Dear Sir,
I have a commercial property which was leased and the lease period has expired and the lessee was to extend the lease period further for one year. I would like to know whether I can renew this lease or I have to enter into fresh lease deed.

Fresh lease deed is better option and if it is for more than 11 months it should be registered with sub-registrar of the district.

It is better to enter into a fresh lease deed.

Since the original lesase period has expired it is better you either renew or enter intio a fresh lease deed.
