498a forfeit or automatic dismissal after 3 year?

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 11 July 2010 This query is : Resolved 
What happens in this situation,

1) 498a filled in 2005 in a PS
2) No chargesheet sent to court & no trial in court till date.

Can we say that this case is forfeit or dissmissed on its own due to 3 years lapse from the date of crime?

Hope experts agree!!

Non submission of the charge sheet does not ipso facto dismiss the FIR though in certain occasions it give rise to good case for quashing.
