RTI ACT WITH TIME LIMIT

(Querist) 03 July 2010 This query is : Resolved
are the service books of govt servant eligible to be issued under RTI ACT? Time limit for this information?
Chanchal Nag Chowdhury (Expert) 03 July 2010
Normally a govt. servant has access to his service records. After Dev Dutt's case, the SC has given a new dimension to the concept of Natural Justice. There is hardly a necessity for invocation of the RTI Act. However, a govt. servant is certainly entitled to seek information under the RTI Act.

time limit to get such information from PIO/CPIO is 30/35 days as per the rti act 2005.
Uma parameswaran (Expert) 04 July 2010
