POA DELEGATE NOT ATTENDING COURT PROCEEDINGS

My mother had delegated POA to our relative but for some selfish interest he stopped attending court proceedings and we were made ex parte in the case in 2014 .Since he was POA we did not receive any notice and he did not inform us about it.He just said the case is dragging and pretended to attend but did not for his own interest from the opposite party.Can we appeal against ex parte after almost 18 months because we got to know now
