Demolish old duplex structure for rebuilding

I live in indore madhya pradesh, here i have duplex apartment at ground floor which was developed by housing board 40 years ago.i wanted to know if i purchase the one apartment above mine then can i demolish both to built a new construction.

You may have to refer to the provisions of the registered lease deed issued by the housing board to the allottee as well as the building byelaws of the board.

1. Is the flat(s) leasehold or freehold, if leasehold get it converted to freehold.
2. Obtain sanction from Housing Development Board for renovation/ reconstruction as per local procedure of the Board and proceed.
