Are managers part of management or union/association

Dear Sirs,

I shall be grateful if my following query is resolved.

We have a Manager who is President of the Staff Welfare Association of our establishment. The Association is affiliated to IFTU (Union).

I wish to know if Manger can represent Staff Association in the capacity of elected President of SWA and work against the interest of Management.

Are Managers part of Staff Welfare Association or Management.

Any precedent or reference to this effect shall be highly appreciated.

Academic query. Also, your description does not represent your personal problem!

If you have some personal problem pertaining to managers representation of his association's case and direclty relates to you, give full description of the real problem with proper background for seeking solution.

However, if it is a management issue, the query being a commercial query, the organization can well afford to hire services of an expert to solve organizational problems.

Your representing whom? In what way it affected your interest? What is the organisation - whether Government/Public Sector. Welfare Associations are different from Trade Unions. Pure academic query.
