Court marriage in chennai while we both belongs to uttar pradesh

Hi,

We both are in Chennai since April 2014 and wants Court Marriage to be done in Chennai while we both belongs to Uttar Pradesh. Is it possible? Is there anybody can help us?

Either husband or spouse should be from place of living and with proof of address and photo Id of both you meet the Sub Registrar of your area with the marriage proof like wedding invitation etc.If both are from UP carry the Rental agreement or Lease agreement as Residence proof.You could also get Postal Id with Photograph from your area post office which you could get in 30 days.Meet the Sub Registrar in person and he would definitely help you and his assistants there would assist you properly.No Requirement of any advocate which would cost you.

Is it really possible to get court marriage done in Chennai as we not got married in Chennai and both belongs to U.P. I have visited my nearest sub-registrar but he is saying it is not possible at all.

as per him hindu marriage can be done only..
* Native place of any of both
* Marriage done in Chennai

If there is a law to get married with Rent agreement as a address proof, please suggest me with a valid site link or any valid document or law to refer.
