Dowry death

(Querist) 03 July 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hello Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone can provide proper guidance for the same.

One of my friend's sister was killed by her husband and in-laws for dowry. They beat him with a bamboo stick till the time she was out of her breath, in presence of her 6 year old son. My Friend and his parents immediately registered an FIR as soon as the incidence came to their notice. Now the police is not taking any action to get the culprits behind bars. They are still roaming freely. The police is pestering my friends family to compromise the matter as the culprits are rich and influential people.
My friend has written letter to all the higher officials (SP, IG, DIG DGP, CM SECY and CM of State). He has already registered a petition with NCW. Still no recourse. Can anyone of you please advice what should be done in such kinda situation.

Thanks!
Priyanka

file complaint before magistrate under section 156(3) to direct cops to investigate
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 03 July 2013
As FIR has already been filed so there is no use of moving 156(3) criminal procedure code as advised by expert above.

If police is doing nothing despite of various reminders and efforts then better to make social pressure by initiating agitation and the help of media can also be taken in the given case. A petition before High Court can also be moved.

Social pressure, Media pressure can fetch results in such case as advised by expert raj kumar makkad ji. Also file a petition before High Court as advised.
