I want to know whether a person living separately from his W can give monthly for maintainance before D.Will it be helpful for further proceeding for D? if he doesnot give how far is it helpful?
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 20 March 2011
it will make no effect. You are legally bound to maintain your wife before divorce and even after divorce till she remarry or alive.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 20 March 2011
Yes it would make no difference.

A husband is bound to maintain his wife and children after marriage, after divorce, till death of wife (if she had not married any other man during her lifetime)
Sarvesh Kumar Sharma Advocate (Expert) 21 March 2011
agree with the view of mr. aravinthan !
Jitendar Kumar gupta (Expert) 21 March 2011
it depend upon the circumstances of the case' If the wife has a source of income then the husband is not liable to give maintenance. If you need further advice/ information please call me at 9868529732.

This will make no difference as you are legally bound to maintain your wife till her death or remarriage.
