How to get birth certificate

Respcted Experts,
My cousion is studying in 9th std.In school
they asking birth certificate now. We din't get birth certificate. Please guide us how to get birth certificate?

Check With local municipality/or /gram panchayat if it is recorded there then a certified copy would be issuable on paying fees fixed for that.

In case it is not recorded first apply with Magistrate concerned(he may be JM or SDM depending on state)for an order that it be recorded in concerned municipality/or /gram panchayat,and thereafter apply for a certified copy.
