Sir, I have purchased a property for about 500 Sq.ft. which is part of an existing house(Tiled Roof) in April 2010. My portion is being separated by the WALL of other portion. But I am not the owner of this wall. In Feb 2011, I have started renovating my portion by removing the Tiled roof and made a Concrete roof with required Beam's without loading / Disturbing the boundary Wall. Right from the beginning of the construction, my neighbor is keep on asking me to construct a new wall adjacent to the boundary wall for my portion. But, Since I am placing the entire roof on existing walls of my portion and also the Beam, I avoided. I have not used his wall for any sort of load. Recently he filed a case on me. Could you please guide me on this?

if he has filed a case upon you engage a local lawyer . if ther is a common wall separating both parts of houses no need to construct a new boundary wall .

Dear Mr. Ajay Sethi, Thanks for your response. As I mentioned in my query, there is wall (1 and half feet width - Very old one) available in other party's portion which is not a COMMON one. But this wall is separating these two portions and this wall belongs to him. So, please guide me as per Law, whether I need to construct one more new wall in my portion (Which again makes the width of the total Wall size to Approx. 2 Feet) ?
