I am not a lawyer so i dont understand much of legal language. so please correct me if i am wrong.
i read in one book that case cant be registered under IPC 467 if the complainant is not able to tell the name of the person who made or forged his signature. if case has to be registered against someone, then it should be well told that who signed/forged his signature.
please tell if i am right or wrong..
Thank you

It is necessary to say the name of the person who forzed it so any action can initiate against such person. If no name then how come either the police or court takes action?

It is not possible to know who has committed the crime all the time. What the law prescribes is to let the police know about the culprits . If the complainant does not know then he could also intimate the same to Police. The case can always start against Unknown Person.

Mr Barman is theortically correct but what is the end result ? Some doubted persons could be named so that the police may initiate investigation to narrow down on some one out of such doubted culprits ?
