RTI

(Querist) 19 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
what is the fees of filing RTI application in BOMBAY HIGH COURT?
mahendrakumar (Expert) 20 September 2010
the prescribed fee oif rs.10 is uniform through out India for all authorities.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 20 September 2010
Dear Mr. Sumir,
According to Rule 3 of Bombay HC RTI Rules, 2006, prescribed fee is Rs. 12 which is to be affixed in the form of Court Fee on the application.
If the applicant desires to get the information by post, he has to send a self-addressed envelope bearing the postage stamp equivalent to the rate prescribed for Registered Post Acknowledgement Due (R.P.A.D.) along with the application.
So the uniform rate of Rs. 10/- is not applicable everywhere, even though the RTI Act has prescribed Rs. 10/- has the fee.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 20 September 2010
I concur with Ramachandran.
Sri Vijayan.A (Expert) 20 September 2010
Some offices levy some additional fee, if they have to Xeroxes.
The fee is based on No. of papers to be copied
