Many universities are offering 2 year LLB general course and 1 year LLB special course.e.g.Anand Uni, gujarat. What is the difference in those and 3 year course. I have completed my M.Pharm and wish to do LLB mainly for the purpose of working as a Trademark Agent and not wish to practice as lawyer as well as i wish to complete LLB in least time. What is the most suitable and reliable option for me out of these..?

Hope i will get proper advice,

Thanks in anticipation.

Obtaining the above 2 year and 1 year course, is not equal to obtaining a 3 year regular LL.B. course which alone will entitle you to enrol and practice as an Advocate.

For the purpose of becoming a Trade marks Agent, even a non-lawyer can apply. The person has to submit an application in Form TMA-1 along with a fee of Rs. 1000/-. (Refer Rule 153 of Trade Marks Rules, 2002).

On receipt of such an application, the Registrar if satisfied that the candidate fulfills the prescribed qualifications, shall fix a date for a written examination in the Trade Marks Law and thereafter for interview. The qualifying marks for written exam is 40% and for interview is 60%. If the candidate obtains aggregate of 50% then he/she will be declared to have qualified and a certificate of registration will be issued. [Refer Rule 154]

Three year LLB degree course is better for all purpose. You can complete the course through evening classes.

For TMA agree with the advise of expert Anirudh.

agree with Mr Anirudh

You can follow the advise given by expert Mr. Anirudh for becoming a trade mark agent, but it is advisable to complete three years LLB course which will be blessing in disguise and you will realise it at a later stage.

As such becoming TM agent by qualifying the trademark agent exam appears to be faster way, but when the trademark agent exam will be declared by Govt of India..?
