Society bye laws, role of tresurer

Dear experts,

I have been reading through society bye laws and I am a residence from Mumbai City.

While I understand you can have three office bearers in a society while my observation is everything with regard to role and responsibility has been shared in between chairman and secretory.

Wanted to know from the panelist what is the role and responsibility of treasurer and has it been specified under any section?

treasurer is one of the authorised signatories of cheques issued by society . generally all cheques issued by society have to be signed by 2 signatories . Secretary with either Chairman or Treasurer .
