Complaint through registered post

sir,plz guide me if I send a complaint to police/commissioner of police through registered post,how can I get the complaint number/diary number,for future tracking of the complaint/?

A complaint sent by Regd Post Ack Due or Speed Post will not get any number. However the proof of postage or acknowledgement card is sufficient.

If complaint sent by registered post, the acknowledgment card signed by the department in your possession will be a proof for your complaint, however, you may please either on a personal visit may clarify the further action or get the information through RTI about the fate of your complaint.
