yes 6 months waiting period is mandatory . Sc can waive it in deserving cases .

It is advised to wait for 6 month, otherwise only Supreme Court has right to waive off 6 month's period.

In other words it is cooling off period by which the court expects both to reconcile their differences and change their mind for divorce, save their marriage and resume their marital voyage once again, so the law makers have decided to make it a compulsory waiting period for this purpose. Six months period is not a very long period, why dont one wait.

for filing one year of marriage should be complete and after filing the MCD 6 -18 months period is required as per section 13( b) of hindu marriage act.
