Cheque dishonor

I got a refund cheque form builder an amount 7 lakh . Unfortunately, it got bounced due to insufficient funds on second time. What is the legal procedure for the claim?
What could be the maximum duration to finish the case.

where are you lcated . it would depend upon pendency of cases in court wherein you filed case .

if cheque has bounced issue legal notice within one meonth from intimation of dishonour . he has to make payment within 15 days of receipt of notice . contact a local lawyer

You can file a case under sec. 138 of NI act before filing you have to follow the procedure, for that you contact local lawyer.

First issue demand notice as advised by mr. Sethi. Them file a criminal complaint if he fails to pay in 15 days.
