Can anyone pl tell me the date of applicability of Labour cess in the state of Gujarat? Also the notification for the same.

Building and Other Construction Workers' (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 is come into force on the 1st day of March, 1996.

But sir, the applicability of this act is different for each state.

I checked it from book, which state that "It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of March, 1996".

Sir, the responsibility for enforcement of the Act primarily lies with the State Governments.In Andhra Pradesh,cess is being collected w.e.f. 26.6.2007.Pl also the check the following link:

You had asked only about Gujarat which has already been provided to you and now you have come to Andhra Pradesh. Why dont you ask about all States in one go?
