Govt approved id card is mandatory ??

Dear All

The government approved ID proofs is mandatory during stay in any hotel/resort in India ??

For security purposes is it mandatory to produce Govt approved ID during stay in Hotel or resort. Is there any legal law on this.

Can I have the legal opinion on this issue please.

hotel/resort/lodge are duty bound to know their clients so that in case of any need or inquiry they can be traced is the reason of mandate.

It has now been made compulsory due to security reasons.

Answer: there is no law. This is guidelines by the Government.
