When you have acquitted appeal lies to the high court but not the dist., court. You take this defense and your wife cannot file an appeal state has to file an appeal against the acquittal.

In many States, trial of case under section 498A IPC is done by JMIC and its appeal lies with Sessions court and not to High Court.
The querist is asking what to do as appeal has been filed and its answer is to appear before appellate court on summons and to obtain bail and it is not mandatory to appear on each and every in that court.

You are acquitted. If you receive summon, consult an advocate. No bail, no personal appearance etc.
