Hello, my name is DEVJI GAUTAM and I am from DELHI. I got married in 20011 and right after the THREE MONTHS, I have been facing severe issues and harships because of which I am unable to continue living together with my wife. Currently, we are separated.
These are the issues I have been facing:
- Mental harassment and verbal abuse
- Severe mental agony
- Abnormal behavior, suicidal threats, and tendencies
- Extreme mood swings
- Lack of trust and confidence
- Filthy language and vengeance attitude
- Emotional blackmails
- Violent at most times
The following are some of her ways of threatening.
- Consume tablets and TRY to commit suicide(FOR SHOWING ONLY
- GIVING THEREAD me and parents for DEMAND OF dowry
- Get away from the house WITH father without infom any bady in my parents or me
When my daughter was born, she created a same problem in my family. As a mother, she took care of the child really bad, she might be affected with some serious mental illness. I am very attached and close to my daughter.
I had also consulted a Counsllor (ngo)regarding this and he informs me that it would be better for both of us to get separated and have me ask for the custody of the child.
- Since mental harassment and cruelty is on rise, what is the success level or percentage that I might get a divorce?
- What are the chances of me getting the custody of the child?
- Once the divorce petition reaches her, can she get inside my home and refuse to go out?
- Once the divorce petition reaches her, I am sure to get problems from her and her family members. How can I safeguard myself, my parents and daughter?
Thanks in advance!

if your wife is wiling go for divorce by mutual consent . contested divorces take years to be disposed of . if your wife has suicidal tendencies consult a psychiatrist . keep copy of his report . your wife may be victim of depression . she needs medical treatment .
custody of young daughter is generally awarded to mother . welfare of child is paramount consideration
your wife has right to stay in matrimonial home . contact a local lawyer

If Mutual consent divorce is not agreed, contested divorce would take 5-8 years and results not sure.
Agree, custody of child is generally given to mother and you may have to pay maintenance.
She has right to live in matrimonial house.
Once legal action initiated by you, 3-4 cases against you including criminal case would be filed by her against you.
