do courts keep the original documents presented before it as evidence till the final decree?

what about the possibility of misplacement or loss of it. what precautions should one take?

Before filing any document one should preserve its photo copy and in second step a certified copy thereof should applied and preserved.

yes agree with Mr prabhakar singh all original documents have to be filed in court . copy furnished to accused . keep xerox copy for your record

It is rule.
However the court in appropriate circumstances does hand over the original documents before the passing of decree if the original is marked and replaced by a photocopy with undertaking to produce the original whenever the court wants it back.

Original documents can be replaced by certified copy only as per Criminal Rules and Orders.

first please learn about the Rule of Best evidence prior to deciding it.

mark the original and replace the same with the certified copy from the court itself . It is the best way. bet evidence is also not altered.
