Domicile / junior college admission

(Querist) 18 April 2012 This query is : Resolved
I came to understand that domicile certificate is a necessary document for a student for getting an admission in junior college in Mumbai.

I am in Mumbai since Nov 2006. My son needs to get an admission in junior college this year.

As per the rules explained by the officers, domicile cannot be given as the tenure of residence in Mumbai is not sufficient.

What shall be the lawful way to get an admission in Mumbai Junior college?

Anticipate help.

There is no such pre-condition for 100% of the students.

Even if 50% seats are reserved for the domicile students, what is the status about rest of the seats?

You should avail detailed information from the relevant colleges and I do hope that the admission cannot be denied merely on the ground that you have not resided in Mumbai since last 15 years.
