Document not registered

(Querist) 18 January 2024 This query is : Resolved
My one of the client purchased residential flat in May 2001 and paid full stamp duty on the same duly adjudicated from the stamp department but document does not registered.

Please let me know consequences and also suggest how to regularise the same.

Thank you.

Since the stamp duty has already been paid, the buyer can get the sale deed executed through the seller by paying the registration charges alone.
Registration of sale deed in his favor is essential otherwise he cannot claim rights to title or interest in the property

Until and unless sale deed is not registered in favour of you will not consider title holder of flat and can't take benefits of ownership of flat.

Payment of stamp duty is a follow up action to registration. How come that stamp duty has been paid, but the document is not registered?

A registered title deed is required to get title or interest in the property. But why did the document adjudicate? By whom is it impounded?

The Sale deed has to be registered now by paying the registration charges if the stamp duty have been already paid.
You may inform the seller to execute the registered sale deed.
