Divorce

Hello everyone. Please help me. Here is all what happened w/ me before 2 years.

I got married on 9th Dec 2012. I already had few issues with my wife and her family before marriage but we still got married. They were after my money.

I belong to Ahmedabad but do my job in delhi and so I came to delhi after 2 weeks of marriage and I could not bring her to Delhi because of financial issues.

She could not adjust with my family and left the home on 17th April 2013. She also signed a letter saying that she wanted divorce and she does not want to live with me. I did not have any issue and so I was ok. She came to my home along with her mother somewhere around may/june 2013 to take all the stuff she get from her home for marriage. we gave them all things and they also singed the letter that we do not owe anything to her now.

I am not in contact with her since then and it is almost more than 2 years. My father tried to contact their family for mutual consent divorce but now they are saying that they want 15 lacs which is well beyond possible.

I talked to my lawyer and she filed divorce petition sometime in January. my wife did not come on first hearing. her mother and sister came without any lawyer, Court then gave date of 28th April, 2015. nobody appeared from their side and now we got new date i.e. 7th July 2015.

Please let me know your comments what should be the next steps. I also have a print out of Shaadi.com which was created by her and status was "Awaiting for Divorce". She does not want to come and I also do not want to live with her.but they are not ready for divorce. I was planning to distribute her profile in her city and village to defame her and her family members but that's the last option.

As an advocate my advise is don't do such profile distribution because which amounts to cruelty.So don't be hasty.
In fact, I do not know what your advocate pleaded in your divorce petition to get divorce. The next step only your wife has to file counter in the above matter. One thing I can advice you that such receipt of issue regarding taking of her belongings shown her intention to withdraw from conjugal life this is one of the proof to support your case positively. Thanks for the reply. I have her letters, her messages where she clearly mentioned she wanted to take divorce. we also have some recordings of her parents harassing my parents on the phone. I think we have all the proofs but this case is taking lot time. let me check the papers and will send it to you. all papers are in Gujrati. does that work for you?

Since you have already filed a suit for divorce , you have to wait for its disposal. if the coming few dates the wife does not attend the case then the suit would be fixed for ex-parte hearing.
You have to prove your case in the basis f statements already made in the pleading.
