Check bounced

I have a builder not returning my advance amount. The check he gave has bounced. I still have the agreement of the property which is 1 year back. Neither he is giving back the amount nor property. I need a lawyer to fight the case. I also need how much cost for the whole case in Bangalore.

In India a Cheque is still spelled as Cheque and not check (as it shows as a wrong spelled word )
If the cheque is dishonored not before 30 days, send the builder a demand notice urgently with the help of a lawyer. The cost of the notice shall depend upon the lawyer.

Show all the documents to local lawyer and move legally to claim your paid amount back if such provisions exist in the agreement.

kindly check what is the date of the cheque. if it is more than three months before it is presentation, you have no right to initiate 138 Negotiable instruments act proceedings. only recourse is to file civil suit. So if you are sticking to the legal fees/court fees, you cannot able to recover the money. better find a known lawyer and consult with him. If you delay your rights will be lost.
