Cancelation of membership

Dear Sir
I am a government employee and by mistake i get membership of political party AAP 01 month before from the road side counter of the party. Now i am realising my mistake. Can this mistake create a serious problem for my job? i have not attended any meeting and protest of that party. What the next step i should follow?

Send a letter to the concerned party, that you never wanted to be a a member of the party. Request them to update their records.

Do not participate in the meetings and agitations.
