Raman,17 yo residing in govind puri dwells with in abusive atmosphere. His parents and his relatives are too mean, rude and possessive with him and I am his school senior. He has no good people to help him out execpt me. To solve this problem , would consulting Hotlines and NGOS like ICALL , Sumaitri work ? Do counselling provided my ngos normally work ? I want to save him from this abuse, he cant tolerate anymore . PLEASE ADVICE

Answered by Adv Anand Bali that
If he faces such abusive he can straight away go to a magistrate and narrate his story and demand his protection rights from his parents and other relatives so that they should not ill behave with him. Court will issue a surveillance order to the SHO of the nearest police station to keep an eye on the relatives of the boy so that he should be brought up in a good and healthy atmosphere.

But the question is
1. How to reach the magistrate ?
2 Can one contact magistrate via phone or have to meet him personally ?
3.Does it requires fees to complaint to magistrate ?

Dear Querist
approach the magistrate in their courts in person and file an application before the court with the grievances.
Two Rupees Court fee will be applicable in applications.

Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 13 December 2014
One can not approach the Magistrate in personal capacity. Only officially by filing necessary application his intervention can be sought for.
Magistrate does not render any protection. he can only direct police to investigate into the matter.
Engage an advocate to do so. You may not file the petition in proper form and content.

1. Replied by Mr Devajyoti Barman that I may not file the application in proper format, I may require assistance of an advocate, but would the advocate be expensive ?
2. How good are NGOs which provide legal assistance without fees ? Any idea if I take assistance from authorities like NALSA , will it work ?
