Guest (Querist) 19 July 2020 This query is : Resolved
I leave in a flat which is in my parents name they bought it for me.
They leave in other town.

but Ii have my name plate on the Housing society nameplate. My parents have no objection with this.
Some people from society committee are telling and say that i have to change my name plate as per the owner name

Kindly guide me through a legal process to sort this thing

Name plate has to be person residing therein irrespective of title (ownership) and/ or shareholder of the Society.
Objection of Society qua name plate of XYZ , if any, is irrelevant, illegal and not in their perview/ jurisdiction.

@ Guest,
What is the plea of "some people from society committe" where they have asked you to change the name plate ?
Any thing in writing or oral ?

Usually names of owners of all the different blocks in a single building(Flat) are displayed at the entrance to the said building in the Ground floor itself by the the Housing Society and it has to be that of the registered owners. However, occupants of the respective Blocks (Flats) can display their name plates in front of each such Block/Flat.

1. "IF" it is a "Housing Society" THEN "ONLY" registered members name can be displayed on the Society's Name Board, irrespective of the kinds of "relationships" who occupies the Flat.

2. A resident Tenant /Paying Guest /Friend /Relative names CANNOT be displayed on Society's Name Board.
