Service tax

Works contract service was introduced on 1-6-2007.A composition scheme was introduced and the rate was 2.06% till 28-2-2008.It became 4.12% from 1-3-2008.
Now, if Work executed after 1-3-2008 in respect of contract partly executed prior to 28-2-2008.Is it liable to tax at old rate of 2.06% or 4.12%.Why?

secondly, can composition benefit be claimed on advance received before 31-5-2007 for works contract to be executed after 1-6-2007?

Pls answer

encroachment

Sir,
I have purchased a property in bangalore from my relative. their neighbour has encraoched a portion of his property by 250 feet.5x50 ft. on basis of an unregistered agreement purportedy executed by the original owner in the year 1972 he has obtained status quo.
the judge now is refusing to vecate the status quo. and he has forced us to accept and go for evidence. I purchased the property 3 yers ago and noticed the encroachment. otherhtan the unregistered agreement he has not title.where as we have clear title and are paying tax for the same.

My question is can the court based on the unregistered sale agreement order the status quo. Can the judge force us not to press for vacation of the status quo. ultimately will I get justice and my property back. Whether the limitation act apply to us and we will loose the property.

I have lost faith in the people whom I engaged a lawyers as my opposit party is bribing and booking all of them and things are working against me.
Can anybody help me and guide me what to do.
The case has now come for evidence stage. but it is being dragged and dragged forever.

Validity of title deed

My mother purchased a property out of her earnings in 1962 in Coimbatore. Under the property description column of the sale deed the town survey number has been mentioned as 496. In the parent documents(1957 & 1929) handed over to my mother the town survey number is mentioned as 496 only. However, as per the topo sketch of the town survey which was carried out in 1923 and again resurveyed in 1991 the town survey number is indicated as 498. Also the corporation records indicate the town survey number of my mother's property as 498.

In March 1999 my mother settled a portion of the above property to my sister and in August 1999 settled the remaining portion of the party in my name. While doing so the town survey number was indicated in the settlement deed as 498 based on the corporation records. My mother expired in 2009. Now when I wanted to offer the subject property as collateral security for obtaining an education loan for my son's higher studies, the bank's legal cell refused to give a legal opinion.

Under these circumstances I would need your advice regarding the legal validy of the document posessed by me and how to regularise the change of town survey number.

Legal precautions should I take to takeover a Company

We are in the process of buying a "Limited" company from its current owners. The deal is simple; we pay them X amount and they will relinquish their ownership make us owner.
What all legal precautions should I take to make sure I am legally protected and there is no trouble in future.
The company currently has many partners but it will be under single ownership after take over.We are buying it as individuals.
