Difference between Manupatra/Westlaw and judis.nic.in

Hello there,

I am computer science research student , working on modeling of indian judicial judgements. As I am a novice for the Legal domain, could you please explain below mentioned two questions :---

1. what is the difference between a judgment available at "www.judis.nic.in" and at "www.manupatra.com".

2. If a lawyer is searching for previous cases, will "www.judis.nic.in" be helpful to him ?
If yes , then what is the advantage of manupatra ?
If no , then why ?

Thanks in advance.

How to help lawyers

Hello Sirs / MS,

I am doing research in computer science. I want to make a system which 'll indian judicial department to take quick decisions. For this I am planning to develop an algorithm which can help/lawyers to find similar judgements.I am aware that currently manupatra , westlaw etc, are in use, and I am worrking to improve their algorithm.
As I am not from legal domain, I want to know few very basic question from the people belonging to legal domain.

1 :-- How lawyers search for a judgement in legal search engine ?
2 :-- Do you think any area of improvement over there ?
3:-- What is the importance of citation in the judgement ?
4:-- how can I say whether two judgements are similar or not ?

Looking for quick resposes.
Thanks in advance
