Bequest to a family member, then conditionally to charity

Hello, is the following wording, in a Will, clear in this regard:

"I hereby bequeath and devise all my movable and immovable property to my ... (name and details of family member)"

Then later on:

"In the event, ... (name of the family member) ... does not leave behind a will of their own regarding my assets, all my assets shall be bequeathed for charitable causes. .... (Details of the charitable organisations and purpose of bequest to charity) ..."

• Is this wording sufficient and clear that the assets are first to be bequeathed to the family member, and in the absence of any Will of the said family member regarding the assets in question, the assets would be bequeathed to charity?

• Please suggest if any modification should be done.

Sorry for being anonymous, but it's important.

Forged ews certificate

There is need the name of two local referees( two persons from locality) and their Voter ID Xerox in the application form of EWS certificate. Suppose a person got the certificate by writing wrong information about his caste ( He belongs to OBC though does not have certificate and declare himself as General) then got govt job and after verification after 2 years his service terminated and he put into jail. My question is will these local referees face any legal consequences?? They are in Govt. Service, will there service also be terminated???

Deposit of will when donation to charity is conditional

Hi,

The law seems to mandate the deposit of a Will, made in favour of charity, within 6 months of execution by the testator, for the Will to be treated as valid.

However, the Will is being considered in this manner, where the assets are to be initially bequeathed to a family member, and in the further event of no Will existing of that family member, the assets are then to be donated to a charity or government.

In such a case, when should the Will be deposited, say with the Registrar, for the said Will to be treated as valid, in accordance with the above-said law regarding bequest to charity?

Sorry for being anonymous, but it's important.

My degree is valid or not

I started my regular graduation in 2018 and completed it in 2021. During my final year, I secured a government job in the UP Police and completed my last year of graduation while working. Now, in 2025, I have secured another job through SSC, which requires a graduation degree. I have a doubt— is my graduation valid for this job?

Issuance of new aadhaar card and updation of voters id

Dear learned Experts,

A distant relative of my spouse who has also had a mental illness (since childhood) lost her parents 20 years ago and she is staying alone. However, we have been taking care of her and due to her health issues and constantly going out here and there and not staying at home we felt to place her in elderly care and the elderly care institution too agreed to admit her subject to providing them her aadhaar card.

We got to know that she did not have an Aadhaar card, however, she had a voter's ID that was made in the year 1995, when we approached the Voter's ID office, it was informed that the voter ID was outdated and there are no records in the current voter's list as she has not voted in the last two decades causing deletion from the list. The office suggested producing any government documents or bank passbooks, birth certificate, etc to make changes to the voter ID.

To our knowledge, she has no documents except the older version voter ID which is not valid.

Also approached the Aadhaar office, and they also suggested that an updated voter ID is mandatory.

I look forward to seeking your guidance in this matter, please.
