Rs 20 Stamp paper

Sir/Madam,
Iam residing in chennai suburban.I have given a Blank & Signed stamp paper of Rs 20 to a banker for a bank locker service agreement. The banker said that he is taking this blank(he would fill it later)signed stamppaper from me in lieu of a Rs 20 stamp that needs to be affixed for this agreement as it would not be easily available here. Though I had little hesitation in giving him a signed blank stamp paper, I gave him in faith.
Now, In a worst case scenario, what is the maximum implications this could have on me.
What would be the monetory limitations for a Rs20 stamp paper. Also please let me know the various legally valid usage for this Rs 20 stamp paper.

Thanks in advance.

Q. My signatures on document are nine years old.how do I prove this.Is there any scientific examination possible to confirm this ?

MOU--- Zero legal Force ?

I have come to know that MOU's carry zero legal force.

That is why shrewd business people take Agreements( Agreement are fully loaded with legal force) but give MOU's.

Is it right?

Designing of the revenue stamps ??

I have come to know that with the passage of a certain period--the Authorities change the designing of stamp papers.

Do the Authorities do similar thing with revenue stamps also,I mean to say that is it right that with the passage of a certain time period the authorities change the designing of the revenue stamps?

If yes, after what time this is done?

Computer generated docs----need no sign??

My bank has sent me an account closure letter---it bears no signature of bank authority and declares that it is a computer generated document ,hence there is no need of any signature.

I am surprised that how can a computer generated document be assumed legally valid without any signature?

Though this letter is on a letter head of the bank but I feel that it is very easy to copy all this with the help of PAINT or PHOTOSHOP--even kids are very quick on doing such things.

Please clarify.

GPA from abroad

Dear Mr. M. V. Gupta:
I had posted this querry on Dec 28, 2010-
I live in Delhi and have received a GPA from my mother from abroad. Do I need to take any further steps in India. I have been told by someone that I need to pay stamp duty on this document about which I don't have any idea what it is and how to do it, where to go and who does this?
Can someone please advise me what is the process of Power of Attorney from abroad.

Beisdes other repllies, one Expert
Mr. M V Gupta gave the following reply-
"In continuation of my reply dt.29-12-2010, I would like add that any POA executed outside India should be signed in the presence of the Charge de Affaires of India and attested by him. This is mandatory. Pl check if the GPA received by you from your mother from abraod has been attested by the Charge D Affaires of India."

Now I have this question from Mr. Gupta-
There is no Indian High Commission or Embassy in the place where my mother lives. However, there is a Consulate of India and they do not witness any documents. All they do is put a stamp on the documents which says that the document had been seen by the Consulate, basically meaning that it is authentic. What I have been told is to get it prepared and witnessed by a Notary Public in that city. Please advise me what to do, Thanks!
