You first get attached to a Senior Advocate of repute in your area and seek all his professional guidance in the matter. Law is in the only subject on earth where there are no bounds. You can never restrict your knowledge towards any prescribed commercial journals for improvement in knowledge

There are various journals in the market. It depends upon the field in which you want to practice. AIR is a common journal.

Criminal journals include: Recent Judicial Reports (Criminal), Criminal Court Cases, Chandigarh Criminal Cases, Judicial Reports (Criminal) and various other reporters and journals.

In civil side: RCR (Civil), Judicial reports (Civil), Law Finder, Recent Civil Reports etc. are available.

In service Field: Recent Service Judgments, Labour & Service Judicial Reports etc.

In almost every court compound, law book sellers come and sale their books. You may contact them or can purchase from any of the publisher/seller.

If you are new comer to this profession then join with good senior. Good Senior is good book. Once you starts practice then you will come to know which books have to purchase.

there is no book or journal which can give all information. You must kindly first understand your requirnment then see which journal suits you best. It is however I personaly think that SCC or AIR isa good journal.

The Art of Reading Journals and AIRs / SCCs can be inculcated only with the guidance and professional help of a senior. As a beginner never shy away to seek support from Gurus in the field. ALL THE BEST

REGARDING THE BOOKS AND COLLECTING THE SAME FOR PRACTICE KINDLY NOTE THAT.
1.YOU SHOULD HAVE CRIMINAL PROCEDURE CODE AND CIVIL PROCEDURE CODE AS ALL CRIMINAL CASES ARE FILED IN CRIMINAL COURTS AS PER CRPC AND ALL CIVIL SUITS ARE FILED AS PER CIVIL PROCEDURE CODE.
2.IN CASE YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT MEANS OF FINANCE THEN IT IS UP TO YOU TO COLLECT ALL LAW JOURNALS.BUT IT IS NOT ADVISIBLE AS EVERY YEAR SEVERAL JUDGEMENTS ARE PASSED AND IT IS PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP ON PURCHASING ALL LAW JOURNALS.IT WILL BE A UNNECESSARY INVOLVEMENT OF YOUR FINANCIAL RESOURCES.
3.I SUGGEST YOU MAY JOIN GOOD LIBRARIES IN THE CITIES OR MAY REFER HIGH COURT OR COURT LIABRARARY FOR ANY CASE LAWS.OR YOU MAY PURCHASE CDS OF SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENTS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE IN MARKET AND COST YOU LESS AS COMPARED TO PURCHASING ALL LAW JOURNALS.
4.EVEN ON INTERNET JUDGEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE.
5.YOU MAY WRITE OR SEND DETAILS IN CASE ANY FURTHER HELP IS REQUIRED.
THANKS AND REGARDS.
WITH BEST REGARDS TO YOU YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
THANKING YOU
YOURS SINCERELY

and i find there are many kinds of journals, SCC back volumes, Supreme Court digest, CrLJ, AIR,,,, i can't get them all, but where do i START!!!! starting from MUST HAVES.

I've got a little bit of my savings, where should i put my investment.

You can start with
1-Bindra's book "Pleading and practice"
2-Commentary on Cr.P.C.
3-Commentary on C.P.C.
4-Commentary on Hindu law.
5-Commentary on Evidence Act.
and other booklets as "Art Of cross examination" "Law of notices" etc. All other popular journals may be achieved from court's library or your senior's library. But as being a novice never step ahead without the guidance of learned seniors. Don't loose your Patience and never get humiliated.Wish you a bright and successful future in this noble profession.
