Banking-salary deduction & unequal salary.

(Querist) 26 September 2013 This query is : Resolved
I am working in a bank under CTC salary structure . Many employees who are of the same grade and doing similar work are under IBA salary structure and are paid 50% more than what CTC employees are paid. Can we use the equal remuneration act and ask for equal salaries for both CTC and IBA employees in same grade ?

you can try

The salary structure for public sector Banks are as per IBA structure. Till CTC adopts, IBA structure can not be claimed as a matter of right. Certain Private Banks are paying 2 to 3 times the salary paid by Public Sector Banks for similar work. It does not entitle public Sector Bank or employees of your concern for pay equivalent to them as both are doing similar work.

I do endorse the advice of Rajender ji.

View of Rajendra ji is absolutely right.the equal remuneration act is not applicable, when organisations are different.

Your query is irrelevant without discussion of the service conditions of both the categories of staff (CTC and of IBA salary structure), including whether regulated by pensionary benefits (old pension or NPS) and/or contributory provident fund rules.
