Back out for agreement

(Querist) 20 July 2013 This query is : Resolved 
Hi,

I have paid token money for a building to be taken on rent. No agreement was signed as it was decided that agreement will be signed next day for rent. Next day, after clearing of cheque, that person deny regarding agreement as well reimbursement of that amount. Please let me know what action can be taken against that person, as payment was done by cheque.

It is a clear case of fraud. Issue him a legal notice.
