Attachment of property of the mother of an accused.

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 03 July 2023 This query is : Resolved
Respected Jurists,
There is a POCSO FIR against me. After the refusal of Anticipatory Bail by the Hon'ble High Court, the police has raided my mother's house with NBW. They threatened of dire consequences and to attach the house owned by my mother.
Can the Police or the Court attach my mother's property ?
Quick Summary
A person facing a POCSO FIR and whose anticipatory bail was refused is concerned about the police threatening to attach their mother's house. Legal experts clarify that the property of an accused's mother cannot be legally attached under Section 83 of the Cr.P.C. Only the absconding accused's own property is subject to attachment, and the mother is not legally liable for her son's actions.
