Ahmedabad: does house owner need to register leave and license agreement?

I have given my flat situated at Ahmedabad on rent for 11 months on Leave and License Agreement. Do I need to register the same?
Also is it good practice to create new agreement every 11 months rather than renew the old one?

advisable to get it registered . you cna renew your old agreement .
in case you know the licencee well then go in for leave and licence agreement for longer term say 33 months .

Under the Bombay rent Act registration of the leave license agreements is compulsory. The obligation to register the agreement is on the land lord. failure to do so is punishable. Pl check the Gujarat rent act whether similar provision is made. Generally Gujarat adopts similar policies.
