i filed two affidavits before the high court and in one affidavit i mentioned i had received notice from the authority and another that i had not received . this was purely by mistake and there was no intention to mislead the court can you tell me how do i remedy the same.sometimes judges take these seriously

when case comes up for hearing please inform the court that inadertently in affidavit you have mentioned that no notice was received by you from any authority . your counsel can on your behalf apologise to the court and state that they did not have any intentions to mislead the court

This is serious matter on its face so immediately file an application seeking correction in either of your affidavit and declare it as a typographical error. court may correct if othewise it can adversely affect your case.

I agree with Mr. Makkad.
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 02 August 2011
I do not agree with Mr. Makkad. No correction is permissible in the affidavit. You can file a separate affidavit making apology about the mistake and place the correct position. There is nothing wrong, if any mistake is committed inadvertently. One should be bonafide.
