Registered on 2015 sir , how the adoption process sir
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 19 October 2023
This adoption is valid because it was done by executing a registered adoption deed.
Age limit for single parent is restricted to less than 55 years. Adoptive parents cannot have a cumulative age of more than 110 years.
What was your age at the time of adoption?
Under the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act,1956 a child who has completed the age of fifteen years shall not be given in adoption unless there is a custom or usage applicable to the parties who are willing to make an adoption that permits them to adopt a child above the age of fifteen years.
However please note that uncles, aunts and grandparents from both sides can adopt the child, and the process is simpler if it happens to be one of these relatives and if the child is of the opposite gender as compared to their biological child.
EDDLA TEJA (Querist) 25 October 2023

"Some persons saying this- this is not valid"

Other than the rumours and hearsay, what is the context for this query? Are you facing or apprehensive of any adverse consequences.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 09 November 2023
You hve sufficiently confused.

A person above age of 15 cannot be adopted.

One cannot adopt child of such a person who he/she could have never married. Your grandmother could have never married your father.

There cannot be a valid legal adoption unless the living parent of the child gives the child in adoption.
