A lawyer threatening me with action

(Querist) 24 July 2010 This query is : Resolved
sir i had a debate with a lawyer on facebook relating to hindutva

I am of a secular poin tof view and was just trying to change his narrow mindset..
The debate got a little bit heated (but i didnt say any offensive word or abuse the lawyer in any way)

He asked me the def of secularism and i told him to check Article25(2) of the indian constitution(which was the extent of my knowledge of law)

it is understood that he got very irritated with the debate and is now threatening me that he will take up the case with cyber crime cell and will see to it that im arrested

he says that i misquoted constitution with ulterior motive

Sir please check the link below of the discussion

sir please let me know have i seriously committed a crime or is he just threatening me cos of his arrogance??

nothing is going to happen dont worry....

he might have said so out of anger....

i read a part of ur mutual communication on facebook....its nothing but u both tried to dominate each other.

just relax and dont induge into mud slinging job again, rajniti cant be done on orkut and facebook...even if he complaints against you, nothing will happen...u r a law student, you should be aware of ur rights and procedure too.

There is absolutely no threat against you. But it should not deter you to freely express your own views in any public platform other wise no civilization or culture would proper. The history says that regression in such things has proved counter productive. However while expressing your views in public platform or in social networking sites be cautious about not hurting one religious sentiments.

nothing can be done against you. you have freedom of speech and expression .son donnot worry. if he lays any cyber complaint it is always open to you lay a counter complaint against him.

YOU MAY KINDLY NOTE THAT UNNECESSARILY DO NOT INVITE TROUBLE.INDIA IS A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY AND ONE CAN EXPRESS HIS THOUGHTS.BUT KINDLY TAKE CARE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT INVADE THE LIBERTY OF OTHER PERSON AND SHOULD NOT ATTRACT ANY PERSONAL HOT ARGUMENTS.
IN CASE THERE ARE CHANCE OF PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE THEN DO IT.
YOU MAY KINDLY NOTE THAT IN CASE ANY CRIMINAL CASE IS FILED AGAINST YOU THEN THERE ARE CHANCES OF ARREST.HENCE BE CAREFUL AND IN CASE OF EMERGENCY KEEP ONE SURETY DOCUMENTS READY SO THAT YOU CAN APPLY FOR BAIL AND GET RELEASED.
ALTERNATELY IN CASE YOU COME TO KNOW ABOUT ANY CRIMINAL CASE FILED AGAINST YOU THEN JUST APPLY FOR ANTICIPATORY BAIL AND YOU WILL BE SAFE.
GOOD LUCK.
