First check whether any FIR is registered or not.
If yes then without taking anticipatory bail, it is not advisable to visit Police station.

If FIR has been lodged, try for anticipatory bail.

Well advice by Experts. Nothing more to add.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 07 December 2013
Generally the police will inquire and if they find nothing adverse in the complaint and prima facie offence not made out, they may not register the fIR, but it again depends that how much is the weight and influence of the other party over the police, if they are influential, chances for remand are more, hence to not to run a risk, obtian anticipatory bail and then attend the police station for enquiry session.

First of all obtain the anticipatory bail and then join investigation and put all the facts favouring you.
