498a(passport issue)

My wife has filed filed FIR 498a and i am on bail
can apply for passport and passport will be issued after this? will police stop issuing passport from passport office?

you can apply for issue of passport . disclose pending 498A complaint against you . after police verification you may be issued passport subject to NOC from court wherein complaint is pending

The disclosure of he pending criminal case is essential because it may be treated as suppression of fact material to the issuance of passport at a later date when the same is discovered by the authority, however as rightly advised by experts, there is no bar in issuing the passport during pendency of any criminal case against the individual.
